An advantage the Tea Parties have is that many own private
property. The digitally created signs shown below are some
suggestions as to signs that activist could put up on their
property. Judging from some of the signs seen at Tea Party
rallies there will be much better ones created than the samples
shown here.

Below is a series of pictures. It is a variation of an
advertising technique made famous by a company that
sold Burma Shaving Cream. A simple sign with a short
legible slogan will help educate voters that drive by
your property as well. The Burma Shave technique uses
several signs placed at intervals or signs that are
rotated regularly. Often traffic will drive past your
property several times each week. If all the signs are
put up at once, two things will happen. One is there will
be too much information
to read even with simple slogans. The other is that as
people drive by the same sign everyday they will simply
stop noticing it. If you make the gradual changes as
shown in the photos below they will be more likely to
notice each change and read it. They might even look
forward to seeing what will come next.

Start with just a piece of plywood attached to
a tree, a post, or just leaning against something.

A few days or a week later add one sign.

A few days or a week later add another sign.

Depending on the time to the primary, it might be
a good idea to put up the sign of the candidate
you are supporting. This will give voters some time
to find out about the candidate and tell other people.

A few days or a week later add another sign.

|
Repeat.

To keep things interesting a few days or a week
later remove a sign and add a sign of a different
color. This should catch the attention of people
driving by that there is a new sign out.

|
Repeat.

These plastic signs are available with a low cost
wire stand. They don’t have to be mounted to a
piece of wood. They can be put out on the front
lawn one after the other. The same techniques to
keep it interesting as shown above can be used here.

The signs shown above might be a little strong (or a
little tame) for your taste and/or area. It is your private
property so put out what you are comfortable with. As laws
are different through out the country you might want to
check with the local authorities or ask what needs to be
done to make the sign legal if they do take it down
or contact you.
